Penji Kenya: How to boost your immune system

In the human body, the immune system plays a pivotal role in its upkeep. It’s responsible for keeping out all of the bad germs and bacteria that can threaten a person’s health. So, the next time you avoid getting a cold or the flu, you can have your immune system to thank for that.

Nowadays, in a time where the COVID-19 pandemic is still running rampant across the globe, people are still looking for ways to protect themselves. In cases like this, boosting your immune system is an excellent way to stay healthy. Check out our tips that should help you achieve that here at Penji Kenya:

Eat your fruits and vegetables

This is a tip that people hear time and time again when it comes to staying healthy. From a very young age, people are taught to eat healthy and having their fruits and vegetables is the key to doing so. This is in fact true and will also work wonders for your immune system. Citrus fruits in particular, like oranges and limes, are excellent for your body.

In terms of veggies, you want to choose the ones that have a lot of fibre and antioxidants. Bell peppers, broccoli and spinach have a lot of antioxidants and are delicious as well! You can eat these with other ingredients like ginger, nuts, garlic, yoghurt and a lot more healthy ingredients for a stronger immune system.

Drink your vitamins

Most people like to take vitamins and health supplements to give them the nutrition they need. So, if you can’t eat fruits and veggies all the time, you can also make do with taking some vitamins at least once a day. It should help with both your energy and immune system.

Hydration is key

Since the human body is primarily made up of water, the best thing that you can do to fuel up is by hydrating. Always be sure to drink at least 2-3 litres of water every day to keep your body healthy and hydrated. From the moment you wake up, have a glass of water and continue to do it throughout the day during and after your meals.

Before sleeping, be sure to have another glass of water as well. Not only will you feel energized, but you will be more hydrated and clear-headed to complete your tasks for the day.

Have a regular sleeping schedule

Sleep is another aspect of health that most people take for granted. It’s something that is essential for your health because it gives you energy. If you don’t sleep, your cognitive functions won’t be as effective and you’ll be tired all day. Set a schedule for yourself and be sure to follow it for a stronger immune system.

Avoid unnecessary stress

Being stressed doesn’t just affect your mental health, but it affects your immune system as well. Experts say that being stressed all the time can lead to imbalances in cell functions, which processes immune responses. So, be sure to stay calm and avoid any unnecessary stressors to stay happy and healthy.
