Can you use NHIF to cover eye treatment

Apparently they cover optical care to cater for eye glasses and eye testing at a total cost of upto Ksh. 40 . Here is more in their handbook . http://www.nhif.or.ke/healthinsurance/uploads/manuals/CIVIL_SERVANTS_HANDBOOK.pdf

Correction. The actual  maximum amount for eye cover by NHIF is ksh. 40,000 and not ksh. 40 as stated and then note that the limit applies for civil servants as indicated in the handbook. So I would recommend  you confirm with your hospital if they accept NHIF for eye treatment.
